Prince celebrated his 52nd birthday Monday by releasing a new track, “Hot Summer” to Minnesota public radio station, the Current. The Purple One is also featured on the July cover of Ebony magazine where he discusses being a Jehovah’s Witness and his love life.
In other Purple news,the funk band The Time fronted by Morris Day, will be releasing a new album this year, Billboard reports. The group is currently on the four-date Stingy Tour, which ends with a homecoming show on June 13 in Minneapolis.
“It’s good creative fuel for us to perform live,” producer and keyboardist Jimmy “Jam” Harris said “and then we can get back in the studio and bring that energy with us.”

Chamillionaire loses home to foreclosure
Chamillionaire’s home in Houston was recently repossessed by the bank. The rapper told TMZ.com that he allowed the 7,583 sq. foot mansion to be taken because the recent housing downturn made the home a bad business investment. Chamillionaire, whose real name is Hakeem Seriki, purchased the house in 2006 for around $2 million.
“I was always on the road touring” the rapper said. “I just didn’t feel like it was a good business investment to pay that much mortgage for a house I was never at.”
Chamillionaire claims he is doing well financially: “I still got all the cars.”
Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon files for divorce
First, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon let the world know that her husband was allegedly cheating when she sent an email to his co-workers comparing him to Jesse James and Tiger Woods. Now, Beauvais-Nilon, the star of NYPD Blue and The Jamie Foxx Show, made their split official by recently filing for divorce from husband Mike Nilon, E! Online reports. The two have been married for nine years. Beauvais-Nilon is seeking joint custody of their two-year-old twin sons, Jax and Jaid.

A dog can learn new tricks. Snoop Dogg recently learned a few card tricks from magician David Blaine in New Jersey.
“You’re too much for TV,” Snoop Dogg exclaimed to Blaine. “You’ve pulled a special effects CGI maneuver!”

‘Training Day’ director to begin Tupac biopic
The life of rapper and actor Tupac Shakur will be on the big screen soon. Antoine Fuqua, director of films such as Training Day and Brooklyn’s Finest, said that he will begin shooting the biopic in September. Fuqua said that he will find an unknown actor to play the rapper that was killed in a Las Vegas drive-by shooting in 1996.
“That’s the goal, I want to discover someone new,” Fuqua told DigitalSpy.com. “I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I’m going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world.”

New Track: Kanye West feat. Dwele – ‘Power’
Kanye is back with the uptempo track, “Power,” from his upcoming album, Good Ass Job. Soul singer Dwele joins him on the song that was produced by Symbolyc One and samples British rock band King Crimson’s “21st Century Schizoid Man.”
“Power’s” title comes from the song’s chorus in which Kanye says, “I guess every superhero needs his theme music/No one man should have all that power.”
West also hits back at Saturday Night Live for the show’s skit about the rapper’s incident at the MTV awards last September in which he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech. “F— SNL and the whole cast,” he says.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz engaged and expecting baby
Rumors have been swirling and now its been confirmed. Alicia Keys is engaged to producer Swizz Beatz and they are expecting a baby. Swizz Beats (real name: Kasseem Dean) recently finalized his divorce from R&B singer Mashonda. This will be the first child for Keys and the third for her fiance, who has two sons, Kasseem Jr., 3, and Prince from previous relationships.
The singer and producer “are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year,” reps for the couple told People.
50 Cent loses 54 pounds for movie role
5o Cent takes his movie roles very seriously. The buff rapper dropped from 214 pounds to 160 pounds to play a cancer stricken football player in the upcoming movie, “Things Fall Apart.”
He lost the weight in nine weeks by following a liquid diet and walking daily for three hours on a treadmill, reports Thisis50.com.
“I was starving,” said the 34-year-old rapper who launches his tour in Cleveland this Friday. “I’ve been eating. I’ll be back in shape in no time!”
