Purple and Gold Lyrics

the veil of the sky draws open
the roar of the chariots touch down
we r the ones who have now come again
and walk upon water like solid ground
as we approach the throne we won’t bow down
this time we won’t b denied

raise every voice and let it b known
in the name of the purple and gold

we come in the name of the purple and gold
all of the odds r in r favor
no prediction 2 bold
we r the truth if the truth can b told
long reign the purple and gold

the eyes say ready 4 battle
no need 4 sword in hand

On the Feb. 2010 cover of Vanity Fair magazine, Tiger Woods is exposed both inside and out.  With famed photographer Annie Leibovitz taking the pics, the publication delves into the secret world of the world renowned golfer.  Here’s an excerpt from the article:

In an age of constant gotcha and exposure, he had always been the bionic man in terms of personality, controlling to a fault and controlled to a fault, smiling with humility and showing those pearly white teeth in victory or defeat, sui generis in the world of pro golf, where even fellow pros and other insiders didn’t really know him, because he didn’t want anybody to know him. With Woods, everything was crafted to produce a man of nothing, with no interior—non-threatening and non-controversial.

Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan is suing Jewel Food Stores and Dominick’s Finer Foods for their ads published in a commemorative Sports Illustrated issue, “Jordan: A Hall of Fame Career.”

In the Jewel ad, a pair of red and white sneakers with the number 23 on the tongues are an “inaccurate and misleading copy of Air Jordan basketball shoes,” says the lawsuit. Above the shoes, a message congratulates the “fellow Chicagoan who was ‘just around the corner’ for so many years,” reports Yahoo.

According to the suit, the Dominick’s ad features MJ’s name with the phrase “You are a cut above” and a photo of a steak.  Below the congratulations is an ad for $2 off a Rancher’s Reserve steak, a trademark of Dominick’s parent Safeway.
