Snoop Dogg and his family went back in time to celebrate the 16th birthday of their eldest son Corde Calvin Broadus aka Spank. The eighties theme party featured a cake shaped like a pair of Adidas gym shoes.  Spank received a black Porsche 911 for a birthday gift.  His parents; younger brother, Cordell aka Rook and his sister, Cori were there with Spank’s friends to celebrate.

Toni Braxton and seven-year-old son Diezel filmed a “We Volunteer” public service announcement Monday in New York City.  They were supporting the Autism Speaks Foundation.  Her son was diagnosed with autism at age three.  Braxton also has an eight-year-old son named Denim.

Artists came out Friday to support BET’s “SOS Saving Ourselves: Help for Haiti” telethon in Miami.  Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Nas and Damien Marley were some of the performers at the two-hour event broadcast live from the American Airlines.  Queen Latifah, Pharrell and Diddy served as hosts.  Check out some of the performances.

Lupe Fiasco climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro

ztu6ttRapper Lupe Fiasco is climbing the highest peak in Africa as part of a journey to focus attention on the need for clean water in developing nations.

 “Summit on Summit” bring scientists and well known stars like Jessica Biel and Santigold together for a 50-mile route to the 19,340-foot peak Mt. Kilimanjaro.  The trek, which began Thursday, can be followed on SummitontheSummit.com where participants will tweet and upload video and photos.

MTV will also air the journey in a 90-minute documentary March 14.
