Wendy Williams inducted into Radio Hall of Fame

How you doing?!  Talk show host Wendy Williams was in Chicago this past weekend to be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Before debuting her daytime talk show this year, Williams was a New York radio personality for more than 20 years.

“Women, I scored one for us!” said Williams on her talk show Tuesday after noting that there are few women or African Americans in the Radio Hall of Fame.

VH1 Hip Honors 25th anniversary Def Jam tribute

Public Enemy, Ja Rule, Ashanti are just some of the performers at last night’s VH1 Hip Honors.  This year, there was a tribute celebrating the 25th anniversary of Def Jam Records.  The show will air on VH1 Oct. 13.

Mary J. Blige and Method Man performed their hit, “You’re All I Need.”

MTV Awards Wrap Up

Last night at the MTV Music Video Awards,  Janet Jackson performed a posthumous dance with her brother Michael to their hit single “Scream.”

Kanye West later apologized for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for best female video and Pink took to the air to perform her hit “Sober.”   Other highlights included a disturbing performance by Lady Gaga of her single “Papparazi”  and Lil Mama deciding to join Jay-Z and Alicia Keys uninvited for their performance of the rapper’s song, “Empire State of Mind.”

Beyonce gave a rousing performance of “Single Ladies.”

ESPY Awards

The ESPY awards were held Wednesday in Los Angeles.  Samuel Jackson hosted the event, which honors athletes.  ESPN will telecast the ceremony July 19.

Beyonce to perform at BET awards

Beyonce has joined the lineup of performers for the BET awards, which includes:  Kanye West, Maxwell, Young Jeezy, Ne-Yo and Soulja Boy.  The singer leads the pack with five nominations, including favorite R&B female and video of the year.

The BET awards will broadcast live from Los Angeles June 28.  Jamie Foxx will host the event.

On June 28, Jamie Foxx will emcee the BET Awards live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.   The O’Jays will receive a lifetime achievement award. Maxwell and Ne-Yo will also perform.
